Series Review with Lil' Bro: Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

Image
I have gone on a journey of nagging influencing my brother to read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series written by Rick Riordan. FINALLY , he has finished the series, so I thought I could do a mini review/interview to entertain all your minds. I had also thought it would be fun to put up a review of a book series without reviewing each individual book. However, it did not go as I had planned as my brother does not respond to questions immediately with long and detailed answers. I intervened, gave him answers, and wrote down something smarter than what he actually said. Anyway, let's rush into my brother's mind and find out what he thinks about Percy Jackson and his friends. - 1. What rating(out of 5 stars) would you give these books? The Lightning Thief : 4.5-It is just the beginning of the series, and I felt that it was not the best.(Why are you making me get interviewed?) Sea of Monsters : 4- I found Tyson annoying. The Titan's Curse : 4.5- I found Artemis and

Welcome to my stop for this blog tour for Megan O' Russell's The Girl Without Magic ! Put your feet up, relax, and listen to me rant, gush, and discuss this book and what it has to offer its readers. Synopsis Death would have been easier, but the Siren wasn't through with her.  Seventeen-year-old Maggie Trent fell out of a battle and into the Siren's Realm, a land where secrets hide in the shadows and pleasure comes at a price Maggie is unwilling to pay.  The time for the Siren's reckoning has come, sweeping away all she deems unworthy to live in her realm. Those without magic are hunted by the Siren. Those with magic are hunted by the Stricken. Fighting or hiding seem necessary to survive. But there is a different way.  Bertrand Wayland, unaging and unrelenting in his determination for Maggie to accept her fate, slips in and out through the stitches that bind the Siren’s Realm to other worlds, gaining magic and having glorious adventures. When Maggie follows

My Yearly TBR: Top 4 Books I Need to Read Before the End of 2018

Image
There are so many books in the universe I want to read; however, I do not have the time to read all day long as I am ruling my kingdom, which has food raining from the skies daily, and maintaining my grades. I compiled a list of books that a royal dragon can complete within the span of year. Also, I have made my Goodreads goal 70 books and there are only 4(+) books in my year tbr, so I should finish these 4(+) books by the end of 2018, hopefully. My Yearly TBR 1.  Strange the Dreamer  by Laini Taylor I have already mentioned in my  Winter TBR  post that I wanted to read this before 2017 ended; however, due to my current mood, which is to read all my attained arcs, I have not felt like reading much finished copies, so  Strange the Dreamer  is #1 on this list as this book has received rave reviews and tons of 5 star ratings. I hope I can be one of those readers who loves this book so I can be in the know and read the second book in this duology once it comes out in 2018. 2.

RANKED: My Favorite Books of 2017

Image
As I am currently listening to 2017's top hits, I thought that this would be the perfect time to begin the new year with a post discussing my favorite books of 2017. 2017 was a somewhat great reading year. I gave a lot of 5 stars to books that can be brought into my favorites and others that can stay on my almost-favorites shelf. I wish I could but some of the books I read last year were not the greatest so I have compiled a list of books that have lasted with me throughout the year. 1. Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare First off, I have my #1 favorite for 2017: Lord of Shadows . I am pretty sure almost everyone is psychic on this one as any Cassandra Clare book is absolutely #1 for me. The only regret I have about this book is that I wish I had written a review for this when I had first read it, and maybe I will when I reread it; however, I was absent from my blog for a while so yeah. Anyway, I loved this addition to the Dark Artifices trilogy, and I am so glad that we do

Book Review: The Coldest Girl In Coldtown by Holly Black

Image
4/5 stars Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown's gates, you can never leave. One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown  is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black. Discussion: In celebration of Holly Black's new book The Cruel Prince , I thought it would be fun to do a review of on

My Monthly Adventures: November 2017

Image
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!  Before I even begin disussing everything I did this month, I will answer the question that everyone who is reading this is possibly thinking of: "Isn't it December, not November?" Well, um, yes, it's December and almost the beginning of January 2018; however, I am still celebrating the month of November. There is no problem with that! So, although I usually (and should)  post these in the beginning of the designated month, I never felt like writing all the adventures I experienced. I really did not read that much nor did much except for college and sleeping; however, I want to cross this post off the list before it never gets posted. As this month was somewhat boring(in my opinion), I will " try " to make this post short. Books I Read This Month 1. Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan 4.5/5 stars I love the Magnus Chase trilogy; however, this was not the satisfying ending that I was hoping for. There were a few thing

2018 Books I Want That I REALLY REALLY Want

Image
As 2017 is sadly coming to an end, 2018 is approaching quickly. It may be coming a little too quickly now that I think about it. Hmm, I will have to rub my chin with my nonexistent beard later as I am discussing something other than time. So, along with the coming of a new year, new books are being presented to readers everywhere. Even though we can drool on our computers and can whine in agony, I still want the books now! However, I will wait for my new babies(or books! I am not weird) to come out into the world with fresh new pages and an unbroken spine. Ah, I'll wait with a nice slurp of tea, if I please.  I  WILL  WAIT! From GIPHY Since  I am very evil and a super villain in-training, I will force everyone to suffer by letting everyone learn about the books that are going to be the top of almost everyone's tbr pile! MUAHAHAHA!😈*cough, cough, cough* I must perfect my evil laugh soon but not now as it is BOOK TIME! Presenting... Books I Am Really Super-Duper Excited
