Book Review: What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera | When a Meet-Cute at the Post Office is Misdelivered

Image
Albertalli and Silvera's  What If It's Us  showcases the love story of two boys Arthur and Ben and their many dates and adventures located in New York. An enthusiastic and nerdy Georgia-native, Arthur is head over heels over the bustle of the city and its many attractions, particularly Broadway's musicals and this new guy Ben. Although Yale-bound Arthur was initially focused on gaining experience from his internship at his mother's law firm, he cannot help but become entranced by the Ben from the post office.  Cutest boy ever. Maybe it's the hair or the freckles or the pinkness of his cheeks. And I say this as someone who's never noticed another person's cheeks in my life. But his cheeks are worth noticing. So, that's our first description of Ben, a boy from Puerto-Rican descent who is grieving his recent break up with his ex Hudson. Left with a box of gifts and previous stuff from this relationship, Ben visits the post office to deliver and finally remo

12 Questions with Lil' Bro Reviewing The Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan | Another Success or a Boring Quest?

Hello, and back again! Long time no write, but I also didn't read that many books while I was completing my Bachelor's. Now, as a graduate (woohoo!) and a new adult (wah!), I thought it was the perfect to revamp the blog - especially when my brother read more than me. This blog should really be his by now, then! 😎 Anyway, it's no secret that I am a fan of Rick Riordan's written conquests of "Percy Jackson and friends". Stories of the great Greek Olympians and Roman Gods have been told via spoken and written word for eons, so it's only right that I interrogate my brother based on the interesting renditions of these classic tales! I read The Hidden Oracle and The Dark Prophecy , or respectively Books 1 and 2 of The Trials of Apollo series, four or five years ago. I have yet to read the third book, The Burning Maze , which brings me great tears when I look at my (newly and) gloriously organized shelf. School was... difficult...in my time management departme

15 Questions with Lil' Bro: The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan

Image
Hi everyone! I am back from the dead. I dug myself out of my book-made grave and risen up with  Clockwork Princess  in one hand and my other hand at the ready to type my next post. I feel dead due to all the deadlines that have been punching me in the face; however, as no one probably wants to hear about my bruised yet beautiful face, I think it is time to move on to reviewing a book series. In January, I had my brother tell me his thoughts on the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series through a series of questions. As I like to follow a pattern in my life, except for when it comes down to solving a problem with trigonometry as it is a stinking pile of confusing "math," I chose to be like Vogue and ask my brother, a newfound celebrity, fifteen questions about his so called "favorite series from Riordan yet." - - - ⭐A key to understanding who is who:  Nicole is bold  and Nathan is normal, just as it is in real life. 1. What star ratings (out of 5 stars)

My Brother Chooses My March TBR (AKA Where I Curl into a Ball Due to My Fear of the Book God's Choices)

Image
First, this may be one of the hardest things I will ever do in my life. I do not even know if I can write this post because I am so scared. This is literally me right now! For the month of March, I have let my brother choose the books I am going to read. Ugh, I hate having someone in control of my reading choices; however, I thought this would be a fun thing to do. Also, it would get me out of my comfort zone. Also, just to ease my suffering, I am making my brother do this challenge too! Hehe! However, does this mean I will stop reading Shadowhunters? Nope. Never. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Another synonym for no. Let's just jump into this torturous fun March TBR! My March TBR 1. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver -First read was so magical so I need more. 2. Love and War by Melissa de la Cruz -I should be okay without reading the first book, right? 3. The Book of Pearl by Timoth ée de Fombelle -Magical Realism a.k.a. starry eyes 4. The Knight with Two Swords

Spell Your Name with Fictional Characters Book Tag | Days Full of Stress, Overachieving, and My New Identity

Image
Several times, I have worked all day long. Every time I go to an amusement park or any popular vacation spot, I have to wrestle my way into a place in line. Some days, I have been on my feet all day, moving from one area to the next without taking a break. And, even though I have done all that and more, I feel as if this tag was the hardest thing in the whole universe. First, if I may ask, why did I choose to do this? Also, why did I somewhat accept Lili from Lili's Blissful Pages 's challenge to do this?(Also, go check out and follow Lili because she is just super-duper awesome sauce. That is not a description big enough for Lili; however, if you start reading her blog, you will be as speechless as I am.) Just, why?! I really think that she and some other bloggers lured me out into the open with some cake. How did they even know I have an obsession with cake and other foods? It is not like I stuff my face everyday. Anyhow, I have a tag to start so if the internet will p

Series Review with Lil' Bro: Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

Image
I have gone on a journey of nagging influencing my brother to read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series written by Rick Riordan. FINALLY , he has finished the series, so I thought I could do a mini review/interview to entertain all your minds. I had also thought it would be fun to put up a review of a book series without reviewing each individual book. However, it did not go as I had planned as my brother does not respond to questions immediately with long and detailed answers. I intervened, gave him answers, and wrote down something smarter than what he actually said. Anyway, let's rush into my brother's mind and find out what he thinks about Percy Jackson and his friends. - 1. What rating(out of 5 stars) would you give these books? The Lightning Thief : 4.5-It is just the beginning of the series, and I felt that it was not the best.(Why are you making me get interviewed?) Sea of Monsters : 4- I found Tyson annoying. The Titan's Curse : 4.5- I found Artemis and
