I hope you all enjoy; however, as I am probably getting your hopes up(as my reviews are always promised to be super good), I will begin...NOW! World War II. June 1941. Hitler's war machine turns to the Soviet Union. Escaping her hometown ahead of the Nazis, 16-year-old Aelya Makarova seizes a chance to live her dream. Obsessed with flying, she joins a women's fighter squadron to defend her homeland against the invaders. She'll go faster and higher than she's ever gone before. #READATHONBYZOE'S 24 HOUR READATHON Hello everyone! If you can tell by the title of this post, I am joining readbyzoe's 24 hour readthon. Now, it is time to see if I made a mistake before I continue with the idea that I intend to  attend win this twenty-four hour readathon. First, in order to start this, I need to explain what a readathon is to those of you who may have looked at the title quizzically. A readathon, according to my brain at 11 p.m., is a time of celebration as one can read as much as they want in a certain amount of time allotted by the curator of said readathon. This readathon is curated by Zoe Hertz from readbyzoe on YouTube  and she announced that on March 3rd, which is approaching in just a few hours, the readathon will begin. The time when your clock chimes twelve is the time to start. Now, as I love charts and lists, I needed to have one ready for my goals and amount of times I would track my progress throughout the day and night. TBR: As

My Brother Chooses My March TBR (AKA Where I Curl into a Ball Due to My Fear of the Book God's Choices)

Image
First, this may be one of the hardest things I will ever do in my life. I do not even know if I can write this post because I am so scared. This is literally me right now! For the month of March, I have let my brother choose the books I am going to read. Ugh, I hate having someone in control of my reading choices; however, I thought this would be a fun thing to do. Also, it would get me out of my comfort zone. Also, just to ease my suffering, I am making my brother do this challenge too! Hehe! However, does this mean I will stop reading Shadowhunters? Nope. Never. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Another synonym for no. Let's just jump into this torturous fun March TBR! My March TBR 1. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver -First read was so magical so I need more. 2. Love and War by Melissa de la Cruz -I should be okay without reading the first book, right? 3. The Book of Pearl by Timoth ée de Fombelle -Magical Realism a.k.a. starry eyes 4. The Knight with Two Swords

Book Review: Amber Sky by Claire Warner

Beneath the Amber Sky, the nobility control the food, education, and the mysterious C.O.I.L.S of Copper and Brass. To Tay, struggling to keep her siblings alive, the ideas of rebellion and freedom are distant and unreachable.   But when her father is arrested, she begs Darius James, the son of the Overseer, to save his life. Darius agrees, but his help costs her a favour, one he can call in at any time.  Darius' favour will bring her to the Palace, and the perfect position to help the growing rebellion. But the court has games beyond anything she has seen before, and Darius' secrets will add to the danger. Tay is now able to make a difference, to join the rebellion, find the C.O.I.L.S and discover the secrets of the Amber Sky. All she has to do is survive.  Discussion: " The Coils of Copper and Brass were a fantasy, an old fairy tale told to children, and certainly nothing to pin dreams of freedom on. " 3.5/5 stars Over the course of Christmas Break, I thoug

Whale hello there! I know this is late, and before I apologize for being such a terrible blogger, I want to tell you guys why I did not post this sooner. Excuses for Why I Did Not Wanna Write This Post...'Cause Oops, I May Do It Again Stress, stress, stress...to be the perfect book blogger, to be the perfect student, to be the perfect cat mommy I did not know how you would take the pun gif. I did not feel like writing this. And I did not know how you would react to hearing that your (favorite) blogger did not want to write her recap and get into a writing funk. I have been writing a lot more, and I do not want to mess this up. And finally, I barely remember what happened in December other than finals. Ugh! But, can I bribe you with a picture of a cute cat? - - - Carrying on, December was an okay month for me. With all the stress of college finals, I was worried I would be stuck with my nose in a book, like always; however, the books would not count to
