Ten Unmissable Books From Authors Who Have Dethroned Their Debuts and Keep Me Returning for More
Every Tuesday, Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl hosts Top Ten Tuesday, a series of posts created to appreciate lists of books and reading-related culture. The theme changes every week and is chosen by Jana. Come join our fangirl/boy craziness by naming your top ten favorite short reads in the comments or in your very own blog/social media.
Poking through the library reveals the genius of authors whose book collections line several shelves, these authors’ successes do not merely exist because of wishes made on glowing shooting stars or blowing dandelion fuzz into southbound winds. While relying on the works of a witch's bubbling purple portion or luck for success, these writers cultivate their talents through scraped outlines and near-infinity drafts until their finished work is finally released to readers. Much time is needed to both master the writing and development of stories and the characters we empathize with or root for. Thus, it is safe to assume that the storytelling of an author should improve in further publications, right?
Well, as evident by the number of subsequent novels I bought from Cassandra Clare and Rick Riordan, it is safe to say the above assumption is correct for my favorite authors. Therefore, my perfectionism finally benefits in choosing which of these authors’ books is my favorite of theirs — if not the world! Let’s get this Top Ten Tuesday started!
Ten Subsequent Novels of Authors Who Have Dethroned Their Firsts and Plan to Take Over My Bookshelves One Addition at A Time

Cress has been on a lot of lists this week!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Top Ten Tuesday.
Lydia
Hey, Lydia! I absolutely agree with Cress's overwhelming presence on these TTT! It was truly a wild ride and such a great novel!

Aww, thank you so much! It took many days of brainstorming to officially decide on a witty title -- and this was the result!
DeleteWith so many of these novels already sitting on your shelf, I highly recommend them/first novels in the series! I especially loved Green's TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN as I related so much to it while I was still in high school/college. Please let me know which one(s) was/were your favorite when you blaze through your TBR!
Happy TTT!
The Kitty Hawk series looks really cute! I'll have to check it out.

Hey, Susan! Yes, I adored Kitty Hawk as the series is reminiscent of Nancy Drew — just more modern and has planes. Plus, it is a self-published novel, so if you need to check any boxes on a bookish bingo card, it is sure to be quite worth the read!
