Book Review: Alone by Cyn Balog | Can You Ever Be Truly Alone When You Have Cake? Ft. Murder Mysteries

Image
When her mom inherits an old, crumbling mansion, Seda’s almost excited to spend the summer there. The grounds are beautiful and it’s fun to explore the sprawling house with its creepy rooms and secret passages. Except now her mom wants to renovate, rather than sell the estate—which means they're not going back to the city…or Seda's friends and school. As the days grow shorter, Seda is filled with dread. They’re about to be cut off from the outside world, and she’s not sure she can handle the solitude or the darkness it brings out in her. Then a group of teens get stranded near the mansion during a blizzard. Seda has no choice but to offer them shelter, even though she knows danger lurks in the dilapidated mansion—and in herself. And as the snow continues to fall, what Seda fears most is about to become her reality… Discussion:                                                                                                 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ Of course, they don't see the one detail th

Book Review: SawKill Girls by Claire Legrand | Following Psychic Moths and Throwing Delicious Casseroles at Paranormal Monsters for Feminism

Beware of the woods and the dark, dank deep. He’ll follow you home, and he won’t let you sleep. Who are the Sawkill Girls? Marion: the new girl. Awkward and plain, steady and dependable. Weighed down by tragedy and hungry for love she’s sure she’ll never find. Zoey: the pariah. Luckless and lonely, hurting but hiding it. Aching with grief and dreaming of vanished girls. Maybe she’s broken—or maybe everyone else is. Val: the queen bee. Gorgeous and privileged, ruthless and regal. Words like silk and eyes like knives, a heart made of secrets and a mouth full of lies. Their stories come together on the island of Sawkill Rock, where gleaming horses graze in rolling pastures and cold waves crash against black cliffs. Where kids whisper the legend of an insidious monster at parties and around campfires. Where girls have been disappearing for decades, stolen away by a ravenous evil no one has dared to fight… until now. Discussion:

Hello, lovely book-lovers! Or, if you just happened to stumble on my blog while searching up on how one can catch the cutest cat in the world while still having time to take over the world and eat a bunch of McDonald's french fries, then (a) you have come to the right place, (b) what an oddly specific search question to ask Google, Bing, Yahoo, or any other search engine, and (c) hello, rest your feet, and become part of the family by subscribing to my blog. Thanks! Anyway, somehow, this post became an advertisement not for The Leak of Madness , which just came out today *fangirling so hard* and sounds amazing, but for french fries, cats, world denomination (my favorite hobby), and my blog, which you should follow. Have you followed yet? Okay, getting away from that mess of writing, Alice J. Black's  The Leak of Madness  is out today! I am so excited to share with each and every one of you readers a small summary to get you excited for this book, a special

My Yearly TBR: Top 4 Books I Need to Read Before the End of 2018

Image
There are so many books in the universe I want to read; however, I do not have the time to read all day long as I am ruling my kingdom, which has food raining from the skies daily, and maintaining my grades. I compiled a list of books that a royal dragon can complete within the span of year. Also, I have made my Goodreads goal 70 books and there are only 4(+) books in my year tbr, so I should finish these 4(+) books by the end of 2018, hopefully. My Yearly TBR 1.  Strange the Dreamer  by Laini Taylor I have already mentioned in my  Winter TBR  post that I wanted to read this before 2017 ended; however, due to my current mood, which is to read all my attained arcs, I have not felt like reading much finished copies, so  Strange the Dreamer  is #1 on this list as this book has received rave reviews and tons of 5 star ratings. I hope I can be one of those readers who loves this book so I can be in the know and read the second book in this duology once it comes out in 2018. 2.

RANKED: My Favorite Books of 2017

Image
As I am currently listening to 2017's top hits, I thought that this would be the perfect time to begin the new year with a post discussing my favorite books of 2017. 2017 was a somewhat great reading year. I gave a lot of 5 stars to books that can be brought into my favorites and others that can stay on my almost-favorites shelf. I wish I could but some of the books I read last year were not the greatest so I have compiled a list of books that have lasted with me throughout the year. 1. Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare First off, I have my #1 favorite for 2017: Lord of Shadows . I am pretty sure almost everyone is psychic on this one as any Cassandra Clare book is absolutely #1 for me. The only regret I have about this book is that I wish I had written a review for this when I had first read it, and maybe I will when I reread it; however, I was absent from my blog for a while so yeah. Anyway, I loved this addition to the Dark Artifices trilogy, and I am so glad that we do
