[Blog Tour+Giveaway] Devil's Gold by Amanda Kinney | A Murder Mystery, My Future, and Tea Recommendations

Image
I cannot believe the amount of blog tours I have done since I have first started my little blog. My blog is almost one year old so I will have to make a birthday recap; however, this is not a post all about me. Okay, it kind of is as this blog is about ME; however, today, we are focusing on Amanda McKinney's  Devil's Gold , a new novella in a new series written to show cut-throat mysteries that have a sassy main character. If that sounds exactly like a book you would like to read, then let's just get into this book's pages! - - - Title: Devil’s Gold  (Black Rose Mystery #1) Author: Amanda McKinney Publication date:   February 13th 2018 Genres:  Adult, Mystery,  Thriller Formats: eBook Find it: Goodreads , Amazon Synopsis: Despite being chronically late, occasionally disheveled and a tad disorganized, Dixie Knight is one of the top private investigators in the country, and when a young woman goes missing in the small, Southern town of Devil’s Den

My Monthly Adventures: December 2017 | Procrastination, Cat Bribes, and Unexplainable Puns

Whale hello there! I know this is late, and before I apologize for being such a terrible blogger, I want to tell you guys why I did not post this sooner. Excuses for Why I Did Not Wanna Write This Post...'Cause Oops, I May Do It Again Stress, stress, stress...to be the perfect book blogger, to be the perfect student, to be the perfect cat mommy I did not know how you would take the pun gif. I did not feel like writing this. And I did not know how you would react to hearing that your (favorite) blogger did not want to write her recap and get into a writing funk. I have been writing a lot more, and I do not want to mess this up. And finally, I barely remember what happened in December other than finals. Ugh! But, can I bribe you with a picture of a cute cat? - - - Carrying on, December was an okay month for me. With all the stress of college finals, I was worried I would be stuck with my nose in a book, like always; however, the books would not count to

My Yearly TBR: Top 4 Books I Need to Read Before the End of 2018

Image
There are so many books in the universe I want to read; however, I do not have the time to read all day long as I am ruling my kingdom, which has food raining from the skies daily, and maintaining my grades. I compiled a list of books that a royal dragon can complete within the span of year. Also, I have made my Goodreads goal 70 books and there are only 4(+) books in my year tbr, so I should finish these 4(+) books by the end of 2018, hopefully. My Yearly TBR 1.  Strange the Dreamer  by Laini Taylor I have already mentioned in my  Winter TBR  post that I wanted to read this before 2017 ended; however, due to my current mood, which is to read all my attained arcs, I have not felt like reading much finished copies, so  Strange the Dreamer  is #1 on this list as this book has received rave reviews and tons of 5 star ratings. I hope I can be one of those readers who loves this book so I can be in the know and read the second book in this duology once it comes out in 2018. 2.

Book Review: A Taxonomy of Love by Rachael Allen | Revenge of the Nerds, Relationship Problems, and Lattes

Image
The moment Spencer meets Hope the summer before seventh grade, it’s . . . something at first sight. He knows she’s special, possibly even magical. The pair become fast friends, climbing trees and planning world travels. After years of being outshone by his older brother and teased because of his Tourette syndrome, Spencer finally feels like he belongs. But as Hope and Spencer get older and life gets messier, the clear label of “friend” gets messier, too. Through sibling feuds and family tragedies, new relationships and broken hearts, the two grow together and apart, and Spencer, an aspiring scientist, tries to map it all out using his trusty system of taxonomy. He wants to identify and classify their relationship, but in the end, he finds that life doesn’t always fit into easy-to-manage boxes, and it’s this messy complexity that makes life so rich and beautiful. Discussion: " Please tell me you have lattes because if you don't, I am going to lose all hope in the universe

RANKED: My Favorite Books of 2017

Image
As I am currently listening to 2017's top hits, I thought that this would be the perfect time to begin the new year with a post discussing my favorite books of 2017. 2017 was a somewhat great reading year. I gave a lot of 5 stars to books that can be brought into my favorites and others that can stay on my almost-favorites shelf. I wish I could but some of the books I read last year were not the greatest so I have compiled a list of books that have lasted with me throughout the year. 1. Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare First off, I have my #1 favorite for 2017: Lord of Shadows . I am pretty sure almost everyone is psychic on this one as any Cassandra Clare book is absolutely #1 for me. The only regret I have about this book is that I wish I had written a review for this when I had first read it, and maybe I will when I reread it; however, I was absent from my blog for a while so yeah. Anyway, I loved this addition to the Dark Artifices trilogy, and I am so glad that we do

My Monthly Adventures: November 2017

Image
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!  Before I even begin disussing everything I did this month, I will answer the question that everyone who is reading this is possibly thinking of: "Isn't it December, not November?" Well, um, yes, it's December and almost the beginning of January 2018; however, I am still celebrating the month of November. There is no problem with that! So, although I usually (and should)  post these in the beginning of the designated month, I never felt like writing all the adventures I experienced. I really did not read that much nor did much except for college and sleeping; however, I want to cross this post off the list before it never gets posted. As this month was somewhat boring(in my opinion), I will " try " to make this post short. Books I Read This Month 1. Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan 4.5/5 stars I love the Magnus Chase trilogy; however, this was not the satisfying ending that I was hoping for. There were a few thing

Book Review: Aaru by David Meredith

Image
*Received a copy of  Aaru  by David Meredith from the author in exchange for a honest review. 2/5 stars Rose, a sixteen year old leukemia patient, is slowly dying each day with no hope for a cure to save her. While she is in the hospital, which acts as Rose's prison, a stranger named Mr. Adams saves her soul so she can be part of Aaru, a new project that saves the deceased who deserve a second chance to live. While Rose is alive in her virtual world, Koren is becoming a famous star. However, life does not seem that glorious when your story becomes a worldwide topic. One disadvantage is when Magic Man becomes the evil villain in both of Koren's and Roses' lives. Throughout the book, Rose tries to stay by Koren as trouble strikes them through their journey of sisterhood and life. Discussion:  Aaru  was one of the several books I read while Hurricane Harvey took its trillions of gallons of water and dumped it on Houston in a nonstop rainstorm. Even though I had no int

Book Review: Frankie by Shivaun Plozza

Image
Foreword: Received Frankie by Shivaun Plozza from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. 3/5 stars Frankie is angry. She is suspended from school because she hit a boy with a Shakespeare novel, which may have caused her to repeatedly bite her thumb throughout the novel. Also, she has a half-brother from the mother who left her when she was younger. Although Frankie may be happy when she meets her new brother Xavier, she becomes confused when she finds out Xavier has a troubling, crime-filled life and a gorgeous friend named Nate that catches Frankie's eye. Until Xavier disappears, Frankie believes she could never get away from her life of disappointing her friends and family. Now, she must search for her new brother through dark streets and alley ways while keeping up her daily appearance of cooking kebabs, eating Spanish doughnuts, and trying to be good for school.                                                           Discussion:
